[25 AUGUST 2026 | TAGUIG CITY] — ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Philippines Chair Jose Ma. “Joey” A. Concepcion III met with H.E. Constance See, Ambassador of Singapore to the Philippines last August 25 at the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Taguig City to discuss ASEAN-BAC’s flagship events: the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) and ASEAN Business Awards (ABA), as well as Singapore’s assumption of the ASEAN chairship in 2027.

During the meeting, ASEAN-BAC Philippines presented its key priorities, strategic pillars, flagship initiatives, and upcoming activities, including council meetings, thematic summits, and other engagements for the rest of the year. Discussions focused particularly on ABIS 2026 and ABA 2026, both set for November 12 and 13.

ABIS serves as ASEAN’s premier public-private leadership event to discuss policy, mobilize private sector investment, forge strategic partnerships, and advance regional priorities. Meanwhile, the ABA gives recognition to enterprises and business leaders whose contributions have helped drive ASEAN’s economic growth and shared prosperity.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the ceremonial turnover of the ASEAN Chairship from the Philippines to Singapore. The engagement underscored the importance of strengthening Philippines-Singapore collaboration, vital in advancing shared priorities and supporting a seamless transition between ASEAN Chairships.

In the meeting from the Embassy of Singapore were Deputy Chief of Mission and Counsellor Logaventhan Karuppannan, First Secretaries Priscilla Tay and Jimmy Ang, and Second Secretary Wang Peixuan. Joining Concepcion from ASEAN-BAC Philippines were Executive Director Patrick Chua and ASEAN Food Security Alliance Senior Adviser Gil Gonzales.
